The diffuse nebula M20, the Trifid Nebula, and the nearby situated open star cluster M21, are captured in one field of view in this image obtained at the Burrell Schmidt telescope of Case Western Reserve University's Warner and Swasey Observatory, located on Kitt Peak near Tucson, Arizona, during the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program. This is an approximately true-color composite created from BVR images taken in June 1996. Image size is 51 arc minutes square.
