Milky Way Globular Clusters * also available in html at: http.//messier.seds.org/xtra/supp/mw_gc.html This list contains all 151 Milky Way globular clusters known at the time of this writing (December, 2004). Most of the data were taken from William E. Harris. Note: Included are the four globulars which are probably genuine members of the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy (SagDEG), namely, M 54, Arp 2, Terzan 7 and Terzan 8. One justification is that those will probably be incorporated in our Galaxy's halo after the disruption of the dwarf galaxy. Another one, Palomar 12, now a dynamical member of the Milky Way halo, was probably captured from SagDEG at some earlier time. It is also justified as it also contains the presumable four former members of the Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy, which was discovered in 2003 and is in an even more advanced state of disruption: M79, NGC 1851, NGC 2298 and NGC 2808. All these are now considered as members of the Galactic halo which recently "immigrated" from disrupted and cannibalized dwarf galaxies.
