Messier Object Of The Week: Archive

>> By Date >>
>> By Messier Number >>

Each week, we feature one Messier object which is currently observable, from many places on Earth, i.e. all geographic regions which are not too far on the opposite hemisphere. This means, chiefly, that the featured object culminates, or transits the meridian, around midnight (or somewhat earlier, as most observers prefer evening over morning observing sessions).

It will take slightly more than 2 years to cover all 110 Messier objects once.
