Subject: Messier results 2024 From: Dave Whittle Date: Mon, Mar 11, 7:19 PM Hi Harmut, once again. This being my tenth consecutive year of Messier Marathoning! This year I observed from near Aberdaron on the llyn peninsula in North Wales U.K. on the 7.3.24. 99 messier objects observed out of a possible 101 at that location. My intended elevated observing site was unusable due to 25 mph winds gustings to 35 mph. My lower valley site obscured M2 and M6 due to nearby hills. Poor transparency made locating many low altitude objects difficult. These 99 being harder to find than my 110 last year. 10 inch telescope, 20 x 80 and 7 x 50 binoculars used this time. Many thanks Dave Whittle Liverpool Astronomical Society.
