Due to some low clouds in the wee hours of the morning, only got 106. Luckily, backyard astronomy isn’t affected much by social distancing! I had just finished building my backyard observatory this winter, and thought that trying to run an Imaging Messier Marathon would be a good chance to run the observatory through its paces. I have posted the results, including all of the images and a narrative, on my astrophoto blog: http://astro.shubertnm.net/wp_astro/messier-marathon-2020/ Results summary: Date: 24/25 March 2020 Number of Objects Imaged: 106 Name & Location: Paul Shubert Hawksnest Observatory Sandia Park, New Mexico, USA Instruments: Celestron 200mm SCT Explore Scientific 102 ED APO Canon 200mm f/4 FD Camera: Sony Alpha-6000 APS-C w/ LifePixel H-alpha filter Missed Objects: M64 (Mis-pointed) M15, M2, M30 (Patchy Low Clouds in the Pre-Dawn Hours) Paul Shubert +1 505 259 1333 mobile
