Subject: Perfect Messier imaging marathon! From: Jonathan Ward Date: Sun, Mar 31, 2019 at 6:50 AM I attempted my first Messier Imaging Marathon on the night of March 26-27, 2019 from Summerfield, North Carolina, USA. Much to my surprise, I was 110 for 110 by time M30 rose the next morning. The moon was within 10 degrees of about a dozen objects in Sagittarius, which made imaging difficult due to lens flare and sky glow. Otherwise, the weather was perfect. I was using an Explore Scientific 127mm APO and a ZWO ASI294MC camera. M30 rose through the trees to my east as dawn was breaking. I captured a few images of it in between the branches of the tree, when it was only about 4.5d above the horizon. Attachment: "Marathon Jonathan H.
